Fourteen students and five teachers from from Don Bosco Technical Centre and Vocational College Salelologa participated in the National Post School Education and Training (PSET) Week, taking part in the Skills Competition and PSET Exhibition.
Students represented the College in Plumbing, Carpentry, and Hospitality-Tourism, showcasing the skills and knowledge they have developed through their vocational training. Although Don Bosco Salelologa did not receive any awards this year, the experience was highly valuable.
“Students saw many real jobs, tried tools, and learned new skills. They met trainers and employers, asked questions, and got ideas for their future. They felt proud and more confident,” said Fr. Peter Min Duc SDB, Rector and Deputy Principal.
The event also helped the College build new partnerships and identify training opportunities, as well as gain a better understanding of the skills employers are looking for in today’s workforce.
Don Bosco Salelologa extends its sincere thanks to the Samoa Qualifications Authority (SQA) for providing this opportunity for students to showcase their talents and learning.
We congratulate Don Bosco Technical Centre Alafua, which took first place in Cooking and Hospitality, an achievement that reflects the commitment to quality technical and vocational education across the Don Bosco network.
Building on the lessons and experience gained this year, the College looks forward to participating in future PSET Week events and continuing to prepare young people for the world of work.
